What is Fermented Lemon Honey?

Fermented Lemon honey is a wonderful medicine to keep in your fridge for cold and flu season or to add to your daily tea as an immunity booster. It is a wonderful food to keep in your fridge for emergencies and daily use.

Directions for Fermented Lemon Honey:

  1. Slice Lemons thinly and about 1-2 lemons into a clean half-pint jar.
  2. Pour honey over the lemons and fill the jar about ¾ of the way. The lemons may float so make sure the honey won’t overflow when the lemons are pushed down when the lid is put on.
  3. Seal with the lid and leave on your counter in a darker cool place for up to 14 days. Burp the jar and swirl it daily. Once it is to the level of fermentation you like place it in the fridge. Consume the fermented honey and lemon juice daily as a sickness-preventative, a throat soother if you have a scratchy throat, or add to hot tea when you are not feeling well. It is also great to add to savory dishes!
