What is Herb-Infused Tallow Balm?
Herb-infused tallow balm is exactly what it sounds like. It is a balm made from beef tallow that has been infused with medicinal herbs. It’s a wonderful thing for the skin! The tallow is so beneficial for the skin and using herbs instead of commercial products is a great way to naturally heal and nourish our bodies.
How to Make Herb-Infused Tallow Balm
There are tons of options available for buying tallow balms and whipped tallow but honestly, I think it’s fun to make! And you get to personalize it to your liking and desires when infusing the olive oil with herbs. You can use specific herbs that help heal the skin or that have another medicinal benefit.
Tools Needed:
- Kitchen scale
- Double boiler
- Mesh Strainer/Cheesecloth
- Spatula
- A few small mason jars with lids
Herb-Infused Olive Oil Ingredients:
8 oz Organic Olive Oil
1/2c Herb/s of Your Choice (I like to use calendula & chamomile flowers)
Note: You can increase the amount in this recipe to have extra infused oil left over for making more salves, balm, etc.

- Strain the herbs out of the oil with a mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
- Store in a glass jar.
